This Saturday night the 2019 RLGC Kennards Hire Debbie Marzella Cup Grand Final will be played out at Firth Park, Mudgeeraba, where the Mudgeeraba Redbacks will take on the Parkwood Sharks at 6pm – live streamed on the RLGC Facebook page.
Parkwood Coach Justin Paulsen credits teamwork, for the success they have had this season. ‘We have had a great season and all the boys played for each other, there were no individuals’ Paulsen said. Parkwood have come up against Mudgeeraba twice this season, defeating them in the fixtures and narrowly losing to them in the minor semi. ‘The boys are prepared for a tough, physical game! It will be tough up the middle, and we will have to match them’ said Paulsen.
With both teams expecting a big match, Mudgeeraba Coach – Damian Flint sees no advantage in playing the Grand Final at the Clubs home ground ‘you don’t always get the opportunity to play a Grand Final – motivation is the key, everyone wants to win. Parkwood will be committed and at their best this weekend’ said Flint ‘My boys exhibit traits of a team doing well, they have the right attitude and are willing to apply’!
Both Parkwood and Mudgeeraba have had a consistently strong season, maintaining a position in the top half of the ladder. Saturday night will be the culmination of a season that has seen some hard-fought battles between all the teams participating in the DMC.
The Grand Final will kick off at 6pm on Saturday, August 24th at Firth Park, Mudgeeraba. Games also being played at Firth Park are Mudgeeraba v Burleigh in the U20’s and Reserve Grade at 3pm and 4:30pm.
