As part of the Positive Environment Program, the Match Official Green Sock initiative advocates for treating young referees with respect, refraining from abuse, and understanding that they are still learning, just like the players. By fostering a supportive atmosphere, the campaign aims to enhance the experience for young referees and contribute to their development in officiating rugby league matches.

For more information and resources to support the initiative please head to the QRL Clubhouse here.

Great idea.

Put a senior referee as their Touch Judge instead of sitting in the stands with a clip board. The way it used to be done, wouldn't need green socks.
